IABCA in 2018

Winners of the 2018 India Australia Business & Community Alliance were announced on Friday 12th October at the fifth annual IABCA Gala, which returned to Brisbane City Hall for a second consecutive year. With roughly 400 finalists, government delegates, corporate partners, and IABCA alumni in attendance, the IABCA Gala brought together some of each nation’s most influential bilateral pioneers for an evening of recognition and celebration.

Held together by Master of Ceremonies Kartik Mohandas, Media Personality and TV Presenter, the Gala featured an array of live entertainment including an enthralling Kathak performance by Dr. Helena Joshi, and a modern-day reimagining of Kalari, a 3000-year-old martial arts form. In addition to live performance elements, the Gala also featured keynote addresses from Senator the Hon Marise Payne, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Peter Varghese AO, Chancellor, University of Queensland, who provided an overview of his recently published ‘An India Economic Strategy to 2035’.

We would like to extend our humblest congratulations to all of our winners, finalists, and everyone who engaged with the IABCA Platform in 2018. We could not have done it without your support and working with you has only made us more excited for IABCA 2019.

We thank the Queensland Government for their support of both the awards process and the Australia India Relationship. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship between IABCA and the Sunshine State.
