The relationship between India and Victoria is a special one.
Our State is home to more than 370,000 people with Indian heritage.
But that number represents something much deeper – the lasting contribution of Indian
Victorians who have chosen to raise their families, build their businesses and put their skills and expertise to work.
Modern Victoria would not be the place it is today without the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of Indian Victorians, and there will always be a strong connection between India and Victoria. I look forward to deepening these links when I travel to India later this year – my first overseas
trip as Premier. I want to acknowledge the hard work of the India Australia Business and Community Alliance, for supporting and celebrating Indian Australians. On behalf of all Victorians, thank you for all that you do.
